September 3, 2024—Molokia and ELEKS are excited to announce a new partnership formed under the auspices of the COVERE² project. This collaboration combines Molokia's commitment to sustainable agriculture with ELEKS' cutting-edge data management and energy tracing expertise.

The two organisations will work together to advance key sustainability, data integrity, and energy management goals. This partnership represents a bold step toward addressing some of the most pressing challenges of our time, with a focus on core topics central to the COVERE² project.

Sustainability Strategy

Policies, action plans, and targets: Molokia and ELEKS will collaborate to define comprehensive sustainability strategies, including transparent policies, actionable plans, and achievable targets. This strategic approach aims to guide investments and operations, ensuring they are aligned with environmental standards and long-term sustainability goals.

Data Management

Ensuring quality and verification of accurate data are essential to tracking progress and driving credible sustainability initiatives. The partnership will focus on implementing robust data management systems to ensure the quality and integrity of the information used to make critical decisions.

Accurate Calculation of GHG Emissions

A key priority of this collaboration is the precise calculation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, focusing on meeting the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (EU CSRD). This will ensure transparency and accountability in Molokia's environmental impact reporting.

Energy Focus

Power flow tracing with ELEKS DAKAR leveraging ELEKS' innovative DAKAR technology, the partnership will track the power flow of energy consumption to pinpoint exact sources and calculate GHG emissions based on actual primary data. This approach provides a more transparent, more accurate picture of environmental impact, moving beyond average estimates.

The partnership was established through the COVERE² project, an innovative research and pilot initiative funded by EIT Food, a European Institute for Innovation and Technology branch. COVERE² is dedicated to developing solutions for collecting and verifying GHG emissions data in agri-food production. By promoting collaboration among organisations, the project seeks to elevate sustainability practices, facilitate the exchange of best practices, and increase the visibility of sustainability efforts across various industries.

The collaboration will encourage healthier eating habits while raising awareness about the importance of sustainable food choices. It will also highlight how food can support mental well-being and strengthen community resilience.
